This represents the best selection from our 1946 Malbec vines, whose low yield produces full concentration of fruit and flavor. This is arguably the best Malbec that the combination of our terroir, skilled winemakers can produce. It has spent 24 months in new French oak after the microvinification method, the grapes are harvested in late February, and attentively selected directly in the vineyards.
Its saturated opaque purple color with violet hues anticipate the brooding bouquet of mineral, wood smoke, lavender, incense, black cherry, and plum. Voluptuous and powerful on the palate, the wine is dense, rich, succulent, and impeccably balanced. It demands another 5 to 6 years of cellaring and will offer prime drinking through 2021, if not longer. It well matches a succulent Steak, Roast beef or venison, barbecued lamb, beef or pork and it particularly suits smoky, chili-based rubs.
