Government officials are getting increasingly bullish about 2017’s economic figures it seems — yesterday, the Finance Ministry’s second-in-command Pedro Lacoste forecast that the country could grow by as much as “five to six percent” next year.

Over the next four years, Lacoste added, the ministry is budgeting for at least 3.5-4 percent average yearly growth. If things go to plan, “the country is in the right shape to easily see a five to six percent increase in its gross domestic product (GDP) by 2017,” he argued.
