Global investors ready to invest in Argentina’s renewables sector
Argentina’s recently launched RenovAr renewables bidding round has attracted interest from investors across Europe, North America, Asia and Middle East, Kallanish Energy learns.
According to the country’s undersecretary for renewable energy, Sebastián Kind, the 1,000-megawatt auction is expected to inject some $2 billion into Argentina’s energy sector, and should appeal to both small and large firms.
“We’ve received interest from companies in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Australia, India and the Middle East,” said Kind. “This is a unique opportunity to develop long-term infrastructure projects for renewables.”
