"With this investment, we reaffirm our commitment to Argentina's industry growth," said William Custodio, Vice President for Whirlpool Latin America. "We're proud to be a part of the community in La Tablada and produce two of the three main home appliance categories."

The new manufacturing lines will produce cooking ranges and washing machines and are equipped with the latest technologies, allowing the company to bring Whirlpool Corporation's purposeful product innovations to consumers. These innovations include appliances sized to accommodate big and small home spaces, as well as products with digital and electronic controls that allow users to set a specific time to turn appliances off.

"It's an honor for us to manufacture our products in Argentina," said Pablo Feresini, South Cone Director for Whirlpool Latin America. "We are committed to developing products that distinguish our brands to the world."
"The innovation and growth of local industry is the basis of the public agenda for the economic development of the country," explained Francisco Cabrera, Argentinean Production Minister.
Cooking ranges manufactured at the new facility will be comprised of more than 90% national components. To achieve this, the company will implement a program with 25 local suppliers in Argentina.
