The project is part of the plan that the government calls "the aircraft revolution" and will increase the current size of the air terminal by 4 times, from the 58,400 m2 it has today to 217,230 m2. Ezeiza will go from having 27 boarding gates to 52, it will also increase from 132 to 138 check-in posts but so will self-check terminals that go from the current 32 to 128 once it is finished.

In addition to the current Terminal A, which will be used for domestic flights, there will be 2 new terminals dedicated exclusively to international flights, one for takeoffs and another for arrivals. Per year, Ezeiza receives more than 10 million passengers on board of 68 thousand flights (91.6% of passengers make international routes).
